Serious Tool – PureText

In continuing with my Serious Tools List series, next up is another very simple utility that I use everyday – PureText. It sits in the system tray waiting to leap into action:

All it does is monitor the clipboard and when its global hot-key is pressed, it scrubs any formatted text in the clipboard and reduces it to plain text. Quite a few applications support this natively (e.g. Chrome, Word, etc.), but this utility does it consistently with minimal memory footprint.

There are a few options to configure, but nothing out of the ordinary:

I find that the ClipX and PureText are a perfect complimentary pair.
